On
Tuesday, May 12, 2009, Robert (Bob) M. Trimble, 89, of Arbor View,
Willow Valley, was called home to Heaven to be with his Lord,
Jesus, and to be reunited with his beloved wife, Eleanor, who
preceded him in October, 2006. Bob and Eleanor were blessed with
64 years of marriage.
Bob was born
in Philadelphia, PA, but grew up in Camp Hill, PA. He was the son
of Frederick M. and Ruth Marshall Trimble. Bob was a passenger
conductor and brakeman with the former Penn Central Railroad, and
retired from Conrail after 41 years of service.
Bob was a
World War 2 Veteran, serving as a captain in the Army Air Corps.
He was a bomber pilot of both the B17
Fortress
and B24 Liberator, having flown many successful missions over
Europe.
His hobbies
included fishing, hunting, coin collecting, and later in life,
golf. He was a member of Grace Church at Willow Valley.
Surviving are
his children, Carol Trimble Minnich of Lancaster, Robert H.Trimble,
husband of Tina Alvisi Trimble of Ephrata, and Lee E.Trimble,
husband of Robin K. Trimble of Haymarket, VA. He is also survived
by a sister, Jean Horvay of Louisville, Ky., six grandchildren and
four great grandchildren. Two brothers, Edward and Chandler
Trimble, preceded him in death.
Bob, as his
wife before him, has donated his body for medical research to
Hershey Medical Research College. He will then be interred in
Milton Hershey Cemetery, Hershey, PA. As per his wishes, there
will be no memorial services. Please make memorial donations in
