Dorothy L. "Dot" Shenk, 89, died at her home in Lancaster on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. She was the wife of the late Omer R. Shenk who died in 1981.

 Born in Middletown, OH, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Ida Mae Flinchbaugh Leppley. She was a homemaker. Dot was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed dancing, and was active in the US Ballroom Dancing Association, Caring Singles, Seniors Over 60, Happy Hours Club of Lancaster and the Red Hat Society. 

Surviving are two sons, William G. Wingenroth, Lancaster and Richard L., husband of Elsa Wingenroth, Corpus Christie, TX; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her sister Martha Leppley, Columbia. Her son Robert W. Wingenroth and sister Ruth preceded Dorothy in death. 

A visitation will take place on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, followed by the funeral at 10 AM, with The Rev. David Kreider and The Rev. Wayne Moritz officiating. Entombment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
