 Betty
Jane Shenk, R.N., of Lancaster died on Monday, January 26, 2009.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William Shenk
and Esther Shenk Brill. She was the stepdaughter of the late E.
Paul Brill.
Betty was a
1950 graduate of Manheim Township High School and a 1953 graduate
of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed
from 1955 to 1975 with Permutit Co. as Personnel Assistance and
Industrial Nurse. In 1975, Betty became Employment Supervisor and
Occupational Health Nurse at Federal Mogul Corp. She retired in
1995. After retirement she worked part time for Burnham Corp.
until 1997.
Betty is
survived by her life partner, Leo P. Moran. She is also survived
by three nieces; Paulette wife of John Kraybill, Colette Harnly,
Lynette Reisinger, all of Lancaster and a nephew, Richard husband
of Donna Harnly of East Petersburg. She is the last of her
immediate family.
A funeral
service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and
Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, Pa on Friday, January 30, 2009
at 2:00 PM with a viewing from 1-2 PM. Interment will be in
Conestoga Memorial Park. Flowers will be received or contributions
may be made in Betty's memory to the Humane League of Lancaster
County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster Pa 17602. To send
