Carol A. Phelan, 57, of Lancaster, PA passed away on January 1, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born in Lancaster on December 28, 1957 to John C. Hambright and the late Joanne (Shenk) Hambright.

Carol was a member at the Church of the Apostles.

Carol was a Cafeteria Manager at Reynolds for the Lancaster School District for many years. 

Carol was a member of AMVETS, Lancaster Moose Lodge, Rainmakers, and Lancaster VFW. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shuffleboard, bingo, and game shows. She especially loved spending time with her three grandchildren and watching them play baseball.

Surviving besides her daughter Stacey Reed of Lancaster is a sister Sharon L. Rote of Lancaster, brother Gary R. Hambright husband of Colleen D. of Strasburg, three grandchildren Chelsea Reed, Devon Reed, and Austin Kuhn all of Lancaster, and four nephews Gary, Brett, Gordon, and Gregory and a niece Danielle. She is also survived by Larry Phelan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, 717-393-9661 on Tuesday January 6, 2009 at 11am with Rev. Dr. Tyson Frey officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10-11am.
