Dear Gordon and Jesse,
My heart goes out to you both (and the rest of your family) at the loss of Suzanne. She was a warm and loving lady. I didn't know her well, but it was easy to see that she truly had a kind and gentle spirit and giving heart. She always had such a beautiful smile and encouraging words for everyone...she could brighten anyone's day! Her passing leaves a void in this world...in your lives...until you meet her again one day in heaven. May God give you strength and comfort in the days ahead. Always remember that she's still here with you in your hearts and the memories you shared can never be taken away from you. I know she loved you dearly and always will.

To the family of Suzanne,
   I had the privilege of being one of the nurses to take care of Suzanne while she was a patient on my floor at LGH ( 6 West). I was so saddened to hear of her passing although I know she is at rest now and no longer in the pain that she suffered from. She was special to me, and many of my co-workers.
Suzanne was always grateful for the care we gave her and always tried to smile and be positive even when she was in more pain than we ourselves could understand. One day I stayed after work and washed her hair and did her nails and she was so thankful--I wish I could have done more for her. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to have met her and care for her and hope you and your family find peace during this difficult time. She loved you so much and talked about you all fondly often. My prayers are with you! Hope

I knew "Suzie", as we called her in middle school, only when we were very young children, in middle school in San Juan Capistrano, California. I felt the need to write this because she suddenly popped into my mind a day ago when I had a thought of my much younger days at Marco Polo Middle School and I decided to search for her on the internet.  When I learned of the news I wanted to tell the family that her bright shinning personality was what made me think of her after so many years. We were just kids before  chasing boys and girls before starting our lives.  But Suzie had a deeper idea than most of us of how to care for one's feelings. She taught me something as a kid that I will never forget to this day and I teach my children every chance I get.
When you are kids those who are "different" are ostracized from the mainstream kids, but I have a memory of Suzie bringing a girl who was crying after being made fun of, to eat lunch with us at our table.  This little girl had birth defects that made here appearance shocking to some, especially mean middle school kids. Suzie told the girl that she could eat with us every day and this made that girl so happy. The gesture made an impact on me as a child that I still think of today and thats what made me think to see what she was doing. I tell this story to my daughter as an example of how to treat people and my wife even spoke of the story when she was teaching her class recently. I hope this message is ok with the family because, as I had mentioned, we were not close friends. But I thought it was important to tell of the impact she has had on my life even though it was so long ago.
