While taking a walk, or sitting at the
MillCreek tea shop patio and talking, attending a program in
which dear Janet was singing so joyously, or visiting with her
at her home or our's, Janet always was filled with joy and
happiness. When her son, Quinn, as a Marine serving in Iraq,
was far away, Janet asked the Prayer Group to pray for him and
his family...never losing hope that he would once, again, be
safely home. Many times, Janet spoke about her family and
especially her grandchildren, whom she loved so very much.
Janet was always a ray of hope, fun and beauty. This world will
not be the same without her.
We loved her very much.

Dear Family,
I did not know your mom personally, but I am a neighbor in the
community that I'm sure she loved. I exend to you my sorrow as
you grieve the loss of one so dear and celebrate with you the
eternal life she now has because of her faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Respectfully,

To The Children of Janet Packard: Your mother
was a neat lady. I got to know her when she joined the bass
section of the Red Rose Sweet Adelines. We learned to enjoy
each other's company. Your mother, Ellen Smith, Barb McConnell
and I roomed together at competition every year that all 4 of us
was in the chorus. When I moved on to Greater Harrisburg, we
kept in touch from time to time. We reconnected when she came
to GH. From time to time we'd meet for lunch, always
enjoyable.
My deepest sympathies to each of you. The blessing you have is
your good foundation and the great memories.
God bless each of you.

Please accept our sympathy on the death of
your mother. We did not know her personally, but do recall
seeing her lovely countenance at Sugar Plums and Tea Shop from
time to time. God bless you and comfort you with happy memories
and loving family and friends in the days and moments of missing
your Mother.
Sincerely,
Barbara & Brian Tolbert

Janet and I sang together with Sweet Adelines
for 10 years. Janet was the happiest, most upbeat person I knew
and she made "chorus life" a real treat for me. Janet and I
traveled together, roomed together and shared many good times,
along with some sad, personal times. We shared our secrets, our
concerns, our hopes and dreams for the future. It is my great
pleasure to name Janet as one of the dearest friends I have
known. She will be missed so much, especially by me. I know
Janet is, right now, singing bass in God's great chorus.
God Bless you, Janet!!!
Janet was such a wonderful and warm person. I
feel blessed to have known her briefly through the years as a
Sweet Adeline and to have spent some very lively, funfilled days
as her suite-mate during our Chorus competitions. Her beautiful
face and smile will be imprinted in my memory forever !
Unfortunately, I have recently undergone surgery and will be
unable to attend her Service.
My very heartfelt condolences to her family members. May God
give you the strength to bear the loss of this very dear lady
and May she find the Peace and Harmony she deserves.
With a musical "Cheers" to her life well-lived and with best
wishes to you all.

I smile when I think about Janet. We sang
together in the Brandywine Sweet Adeline Chorus. She was a JOY
to be with....I roomed with her on trips; enjoyed wonderful
dinners in her lovely Newtown Square Home; spent an evening
laughing at her jokes. She was a gracious hostess and a
cheerful, up-beat beautiful person. It was an honor to know her.

Janet was so much fun. No matter where we were
she could always find something to laugh about or sing about.
She was a good friend to all and I knew that I could count on
her. Janet sang with me in our "Golden Girls" group at Christmas
time on the House Tour. She was also the Bass in our quartet
"Dream On". She always had wonderful things to say about her
children and how much she loved her grandchildren. We celebrate
her life and miss her presence among us. Go in peace and love,
Janet.
Much love,
Nancy Fries
It is very sad that we all have lost Janet.
What is even more sad is that she didn't have the chance to
fight.
I know there was fight in her to live, but she was hit with a
cancer bomb.
Some may say that she was spared pain and discomfort. That is
probably true, but she also missed moments of happiness and joy
that could have been a part of the fighting time, moments shared
with her family and friends. It was not fair for such a lovely
person to be taken so suddenly.
There is a pall over the community because of her passing.
Our sincere sympathy to all of the family members.

My condolences to you in this time of sorrow.
Your Mom was a sweet, kind friend who always cheered up the room
with her arrival. I met Janet in Neighbors and Newcomers awhile
ago and always enjoyed being with her at various events. She
usually had stories about her beloved grandchildren and how she
delighted in being with them. I appreciated the sense of family
she had and how she loved you all so dearly. I will miss her
cheerful smiling face and pray now she is in peace with the
Lord.
I hoped to get to the final arrangement, but could not do so.
Please do not think I didn't care. I thought of and prayed for
your Mom everyday when the news of her illness was known. May
God bless you all and know your Mother was a special lady.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of
your mom/grandmom. Janet and I sang together for many years in
the Valley Forge chapter of Sweet Adelines. What a sweet
woman. I heard of her passing too late to attend the services,
but hope that you will accept my prayers and love for Janet and
her family.
Sincerely, Arlene McMahon
