Rachel B. (Balmer) Miller, 78, of Lititz, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster, Mt. Joy. Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Charles Mervin and E. Mary (Hackman) Balmer. Rachel was the long time companion of Rodger Migdon for 28 years.

Rachel was the co-owner of Obie Millers Steak House. She later was employed by Lancaster County Motors and Migdon Rhoades Auto Sales. Rachel was a member of the Lititz Moravian Church. She volunteered at Women and Babies Hospital as well as in the Gift Shop of the Church. Rachel was an avid gardener.

Surviving in addition to her companion Rodger is a son; Kent Peiffer husband of Connie of New Providence, a daughter; Jill Miller of Glen Ellen, IL., 2 sisters; Norma Wike wife of Bruce of Lititz, and Janet Coates wife of J. Richard of Lititz, a brother; Charles M. Balmer husband of Audrey of Lititz, 5 grandchildren; Leah Blayman wife of Tim of Odenton, MD., Erin Bair wife of Kyle of Rising Sun, MD., Carrieanne Meng of Ft. Wayne, IN., Monica Peiffer of Bear, DE., and Jamie Meng of Henderson, NV, and 1 great grandson Tyler Blayman.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 1p.m. at Lititz Moravian
Church 8 Church Sq. Lititz, 17543 with Rev. Dean R. Jurgen Officiating. Family and friends will be received before the service at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Interment will follow at Lititz Moravian Cemetery.
