Loving
Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather Francis B. Mikula, 80, of
124 Foal Ct., Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, February 4th.
He was the
husband of the late Judith Redcay and was formerly married to
Sylvia Vane of Leola. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the
late Andrew and Mary Varmecky Mikula. He was preceded in death by
his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
After
graduation in1947 from Johnstown HS he worked for Bethlehem Steel
in Johnstown from 1947 - 1962. He was closely involved as a devout
Catholic with OMOS and St. Stephen's Churches.
Frank worked
as a first-class millwright at Armstrong World Industries from
1962 - 1991.While at Armstrong, he was a spokesman for the Intl.
Machinist & Aerospace Workers Union. He loved to golf, bowl, fish,
enjoyed traveling and was a big sports fan, particularly the
Pittsburgh Steelers, NY Yankees, Notre Dame and college
basketball. In the 1960s, he served on the East Petersburg Borough
Council. Frank taught CCD classes at St. Leo's and was a member
of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
He is survived
by his three daughters: Patricia A. married to William Evans of
St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Christine L. Smith of East
Petersburg, and Jennifer L.. married to Robert Blefko of Olathe,
Kansas; his 8 grandchildren : Melina Sophinos, Graham, Brittany,
Dustin, and Logan Smith, Kayla, Ryan, and Leah Blefko; and his 2
great grandchildren, Alexis and Talia.
Friends will
be received on Friday from 1-2PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral
Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA, with the memorial
service to follow at 2PM, the Rev. Norman Hohenwater officiating.
Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. Please make donations in
