Shirley I. McKinney, 83, of Brethren Village passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on January 14, 2009. She was born in Windber, PA on March 7, 1925 to the late Edgar and Minnie (Gohn) Manges.

Shirley was the wife of William L. McKinney and they celebrated 43 years of marriage. They were married on October 30, 1965 in Elkton, MD.

Shirley was employed by Hubley Toys Co. for twenty-five years and later was employed for fifteen years by the Lancaster School District working in the Food Service Department.

Shirley was a lifetime member of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Lancaster Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed gardening, camping and was a member of Outdoor World.

Surviving beside her husband William is a sister, Janice Whitcraft of Blanchard, OK and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Edgar Manges Jr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, January 19, 2009 from the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, 1601 Sunset Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601 at 11am with Rev. Jeff Rill and Rev. Dana Statler officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 10-11am. The interment will be private and will take place at Laurel Hill Memory Gardens.
