Dear Family of Daniel Hughes,
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Dan, as I called
him. I work as a paraeducator, or aide, in the Life Skills
class at Manheim Township Middle School and Dan was the bus
driver for some of our students. He picked up three of our
students every day around 2:45. He always had a smile for the
kids, and me, and would often ask about the students so that he
knew the best way to interact with them. I called him Mr.Dan
because if I just called him "Dan" that's what the students did
too, which he never minded! I, and the students, will miss his
smiles and caring ways at the end of every day. My thoughts and
prayers are with all of you as you mourn the loss of such a
caring, special man.
May many wonderful memories comfort you during this time. ~

Dear Hughes Family,
I am so sorry to read that Danny passed away. He was a very good
friend of my brother, Dick Witsil, and of mine at A.I. DuPont
H.S. We had many good times with both Danny & David.
Our deepest sympathies to your family. The Witsil family will
keep you in our prayers.
With sadness and hope,
Jan Witsil Randel
my name is Helen Robison, and i am proud to
have called Dan my friend. I work at Kissel Hill Health Center
and Dan would come in every week, and we would talk. We started
out with "how are you feeling?" and within a minute the
conversation switched to his family( getting mom a new car, how
much he missed you when you went to disney world, how proud he
was of jeffrey in trade school and how jennifer was "his
princess' )he never wanted anyone to feel sorry for him or know
how sick he was. all that mattered to him was the 3 of you. love
like that doesn't die -he will be with you always. I lost my
husband 6 years ago to cancer and my youngest was still in high
school, so Dan knew when he talked about his disease, i would
understand, and just like i explained to my children, when you
graduate from high school, he wouldn't miss it, when my 2 sons
walked my daughter down the isle , he was there, just like Dan
will be. his love will continue . he will be there for
anniversaries, and when the grandkids come along so look up into
the sky to the brightest star you see--THAT'S DAN! looking down
and letting you know he is ok, no more pain and suffering. my
thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Hughes Family,
It was with great sadness that we learned that Dan had passed
away. He and David were friends of our son Dick and our
daughter Jan. They were fine young men and it was always a
pleasure to have them in our home.
The Hughes Family is in our prayers.
