 Barbara
A. Herring was a devoted wife, amazing mother and the best Mommom
that her grandchildren could have. She was faithfully devoted to
making sure her family was loved and cared for.
The only
thing more important to Barbara than her relationship with the
Lord was the joy she received in knowing her children and
grandchildren walk with the Lord.
She was
surrounded by her family at the time of her passing, on Saturday,
August 22, 2009. She and her surviving spouse of 58 years,
Walter, were dedicated laymen in the Church of the Nazarene active
in churches in Pennsylvania, California, Tennessee, Virginia and
Georgia.
Barbara
particularly enjoyed sharing her gift of hospitality, preparing
dinners for various church functions. As an artist she shared her
love of painting, holding classes at the churches she attended.
In addition
to her husband, she is survived by her four daughters, Helen, wife
of Ron McCormick of Manassas, VA, Beverly, wife of Rick Quevedo,
of Mufreesboro, TN, Ruth, wife of Lee Russell of Kennett Square,
PA, and Carol, wife of David Cargile, of Lancaster, PA, 6
grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 beloved sisters and one
devoted brother.
A Celebration
of Barbara's life will be held Wednesday morning, August 26, 2009
at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at The
Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, 2150 New Holland Pike,
Lancaster, PA. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery,
Kennett Square, Pa.
In lieu of
flowers the family requests donations be made to a memorial fund
in her name at The Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.
