Haralambos
"Harry" Grigoriades, 92, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Pili,
Kos, Greece passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Manor
Care. He was born in Pili, Kos, Greece to the late Rev. Nickiforos
and Maria (Hatzivasilis) Grigoriades.
Harry is
survived by his wife Christina (Karpouzis) Grigoriades of
sixty-five years.
He was a self
employed farmer in Kos, Greece where he grew watermelons,
tomatoes, and grapes on his farms.
Harry was a
member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He also was a
member of the Pan-Coan Society.
He served in
the Greek Army Reserves.
Harry enjoyed
reading and discussing Greek politics.
In addition to
his wife he is survived by two daughters, Maritsa Papadimitrios,
wife of Stelios, of Lancaster, Catina S. Keares, wife of Steve, of
Downingtown, and son Nickiforos, husband of Ruth Grigoriades, of
Manheim, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a
sister, Nina Mantoukos, of Pili, Kos, Greece. He was preceded in
death by brothers Rev. Emmanuel, Kimon, and John Grigoriades.
A Funeral
Service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the
Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 64 Hershey Ave. Lancaster, PA
17603 at 9:30am with Rev. Alexander Goussetis, Rev. Alexander
Veronis, and Rev. Hector Firoglanis officiating. A viewing will be
held at the church Friday evening from 6-8pm with a Trisagion
Service at 7pm. A second viewing will take place on Saturday at
the church from 9-9:30am. Interment will be held in Conestoga
Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or to Hospice of
Lancaster County 685 Good Dr. PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604.
