Lester
D. Gerstlauer, 92, of Lancaster, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at
Calvary Fellowship Homes. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, he was the
son of the late Carl and Mabel White Gerstlauer. Lester was
married to the late Eleanor Stockton Gerstlauer, who died in 2003.
Lester was a
freight conductor on the Reading Railroad for 37 years and retired
in 1974. He served in the Army during World War II. Lester was
greatly loved and will never be forgotten.
Surviving is a
son: Lester D. Gerstlauer Jr. of Lancaster, Pa. a sister; Eleanor
Jacquemin of Wharton, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by a
son, Albert D. Gerstlauer, four brothers: Elwood, Carl, Roland and
Wallis, and a sister, Mildred.
A graveside
service will be held at Northwood Cemetery, 15th and
Haines Streets Philadelphia, PA. on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at
1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lester's
memory to Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave. Suite
205, Harrisburg, PA. 17110. Arrangements are by the Charles F.
