 Barbara
(Bobby) Davis Gerhart, 86, of Luther Acres, passed away on Tuesday
evening in Lancaster.
She was the
wife of Monroe L. "Dutch" Gerhart, with whom she celebrated 58
years of marriage this past June 24th. Born in
Scranton, PA, Bobby was the daughter of the late Sidney Augustus
and Sophie Williams Davis.
She had been a
homemaker and had previously worked at Armstrong Cork Co. from
1944 to 1950 as a chemist. Bobby was a 1940 graduate of Central
High School in Scranton and a 1944 graduate of Wilson College.
She was a
member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neffsville
and also a long time resident in Manheim Township.
Bobby had
volunteered for many years at Lancaster General Hospital in the
chaplain's office. She enjoyed bridge and other card games,
birding, knitting, and traveling. She also enjoyed swimming and
spending her winters with her husband in Florida. She loved her
grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to
her husband, Bobby is survived by her children: Karl D. married to
Virginia Kauffman Gerhart of Lititz, Charlotte married to Roger
Foster of Aston, PA, Nancy married to Ernie Kiser of Lancaster,
and Theodore D. Gerhart married to Caroline "CJ" Townsend of
Aiken, SC; and her 4 grandchildren: David, Becky, Rachel, and
Sarah.
Friends will
be received on Monday from 9:30-11AM
at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Rd.,
Lancaster, PA 17601, with the funeral service to follow at 11AM.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Neffsville.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Bobby's memory to
St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
