Ruth C. Gaston, 91, of Willow Street, died Tuesday, January 6,
2009 at Lancaster General Hospital after an illness. Born in
Baltimore, Ruth was the daughter of the late George C. and
Martha L. (Thalheim) Fewster. She was married to the late David
H. Gaston, who died in 2005.
Ruth was a florist, designing for several shops in Baltimore,
MD. She hand painted china, painted with oils, was an avid
gardener and a good cook. Ruth was a very loving and nurturing
person who truly loved the Lord.
Ruth was a member of Grace Church at Willow Valley.
She is survived by her sisters, Frieda A. Von Hagel and Ann E.
Rountree of Willow Street, nephew, Charles P. Von Hagel, husband
of Joanne, of Bel Air, MD, step-son, Tod D. Gaston and wife
Susan, step-daughter, Renee D. Brown and step-grandchildren
Zachary and Lauren of Baltimore, MD.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the
Funeral Service at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 414 E.
King St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10
AM with Rev. Robert B. Kern officiating. A viewing will be held
at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 until 10 AM.
