 Dorothy
A. Donaldson, 82, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, November
13, 2009, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, where she had been
under their care for 2 weeks.
She was the
wife of the late James F. Donaldson, Sr., who passed away in 2002.
Born in St. Clair, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and
Anna Getsie Klemer.
Dorothy had
been a homemaker and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic
Church. In addition to being an avid collector of dolls, she
enjoyed flowers, collecting ornaments and statues, doing puzzles,
and playing cards.
She is
survived by her sons: James F., Thomas V. married to Vicki
Donaldson, and Joseph M. married to Kimberly Donaldson, all of
Lancaster; her daughter, Theresa married to Robert Chambers of
Tampa, FL; 5 grandchildren: Sheila, Becky, Blake, Caeli, and Max;
2 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kendall. Dorothy is also survived
by her sister, Madeline, married to George Wonchalk of St. Clair,
and her cousin, Dorothy Shipe of Port Carbon. She was preceded in
death by her 4 brothers: Edward, Thomas, James, and Vincent; her
sister, Theresa Klemer and her grandson Reed Donaldson.
Friends will
be received on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 9-11 AM at St.
John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA
17601, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM, the
Rev. Michael Culkin as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New
Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions
