Lucille
M. Daub, 81, of Lancaster, PA, died of breast cancer at home on
March 24 surrounded by her family. She was born in Clearfield, PA
to the late Paul and Helen Hoover Malloy. Lucille graduated from
St. Francis School in 1945. She married Glenn W. Daub in 1946 and
two years later moved to Lancaster County. Lucille worked as a
legal secretary for ten years before retiring to raise their
family. During this "stay at home" phase, she enjoyed taking
numerous courses at Millersville College. In 1977, she became
receptionist-manager of the family business, Pink Ice Beauty
Salon. Glenn and Lucille retired in 2004 after operating the
business for 48 years.
Lucille is
survived by three daughters, Joanne Daub Benedick, Cindy
Daub-Miller wife of Dr. Chris Miller and Dr. Sharon Daub partner
of Amber Pelker, five grandchildren, Lisa wife of Bryan Meade,
Jason Benedick, Joshua Miller, Noah Miller and Taylor Daub Chase
and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by two
brothers, Paul husband of Lorna Malloy, Clearfield, PA and Thomas
husband of Mary Malloy, Lancaster, PA.
Lucille
enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, reading, playing bridge and
traveling. She and her husband toured each of the 50 US states,
most of the Canadian Provinces and several European and Caribbean
countries. She and Glenn especially enjoyed February vacations in
their favorite spot Palm Springs, CA.
She served as
President of Sacred Heart Lay Advisory Council, as well as various
positions in its Social Action Committee. She was a member of St.
Philip's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Jr. Auxiliary, St. Joseph's
Sr Auxiliary and Conestoga Country Club.
Lucille and
Glenn celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on
October 12, 2008.
A Memorial
Mass will be held at St Philip's Apostle Catholic Church, 2111
Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at
11:00AM with Rev. Mark Weiss as Celebrant. Inurnment will be in
St. Joseph New Catholic Church Cemetery. Friends may pay their
respects to the family at the church on Saturday from 10-11:00AM.
