DeForrest
"Tink" Brumbaugh, 73, of Luther Acres in Lititz, went to be with
the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2009. He and his wife, Jean, had
formerly resided at 92 Landis Dr. in Lancaster, in a house he had
designed and built himself at the age of 22. Tink took great pride
in building their house and home.
He and his
wife, Jean A. Morgan Brumbaugh, celebrated their 51st
wedding anniversary this past August 12th. Born in
Cassville, Huntingdon County, Tink was the son of the late Oscar
A. and Pearl DeForrest Brumbaugh.
Tink had
worked as the manager of manufacturing engineering for HMW
Industries at the Hamilton Watch Building for 16 years, until
retiring in 1978. He had served as the past president of the
Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
He was a
graduate of the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute with an
associate's degree, and had attended Franklin and Marshall
College.
In addition to
engineering and home building, Tink's interests included World and
US history, current world events, and genealogy. Tink was also a
member of Harvest Presbyterian Church.
In addition to
his wife, he is survived by his sons: Jeffrey Scot married to
Melody Brumbaugh of Marietta, GA, and John David Brumbaugh of
Lancaster; his grandson James Daniel "JD" Brumbaugh of Marietta,
GA; his brother Jay Lee married to Ingeborg Brumbaugh of Chester,
VA and his sister, Linda married to Robert Trout of East
Petersburg.
Friends will
be received on Monday from 1230-130PM at the Chapel of the Good
Samaritan at Luther Acres, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, PA, with the
memorial service to follow at 130PM, the Revs. William Massey and
E. Walter Cleckley officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make
contributions in Tink's memory to the Harvest Presbyterian Church
Building Fund, Box 309, Lampeter, PA 17537-0309. Arrangements by
