Arnold Whitaker, 81 of Lancaster died Monday, April 7, 2008 at The Golden Living Center in Lancaster.

Born in Virgis, KY, he was the son of the late Floyd and Martha Eversole Whitaker. Arnold was married to Emma Watts Whitaker for 60 years.

He was a welder at Goodharts in Leola. He served in the Army during WWII and then joined the Marines. He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Masonic Lodge 476.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters: Pam wife of Fred Frey of Lancaster, Susan wife of David Grab of Bainbridge, two sons: Steven Whitaker of Lancaster, Wayne Whitaker of Orlando, FL., eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers and two sisters. 

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, South Queen Street, Lancaster, Pa. on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 1:00PM. Arrangements are by the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home of Lancaster.
