Mary Jane grew up in Mississippi and worked for 20 years in the farming industry before moving to Lancaster. She was a member of Brightside Baptist Church. Mary Jane was known as the “mother” to the neighborhood, as she took care of everyone she met. Mary Jane is survived by 2 sons; James Thedford husband of Mary of Lancaster and Willie Mack Young of Lancaster. 5 daughters; Mary C. Stewart of Lancaster, Mattie Dupree wife of Scott of Leola, Willie May Stewart of Lancaster, Bertha Dotson wife of Robert of Mountville, and Mary Ann Thedford of Lancaster. A step-son William Cooper husband of Elaine of Lancaster. A step-daughter Jessie Pearl Gaston of Detroit, Michigan. A brother Charlie Young of Lancaster. 38 grandchildren. 88+ great grandchildren. And 10 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 2 sons; Willie Eddie Thedford and C.L. Miller. A step-son John Eddie Thedford. 4 brothers; James Young, Joe Young, Anderson Young, and Levy Young. A sister Fannie May Young. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Brightside Baptist Church 515 Hershey Avenue Lancaster, PA. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Brightside Baptist Church 515 Hershey Avenue Lancaster, PA 17603 at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Louis Butcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the church. Interment will be Friday, June 6, 2008 at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Charles F.
