After retirement from the Army, he established the Postal Police Unit in Philadelphia as the pilot program for the Postal Inspection Service with units following in major cities nationwide. His education included a B.A. degree from the University of Maryland. He was a long time Mason and visited several lodges in Lancaster County. He transferred membership to Manheim Lodge in 2002. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Joan Kane Pindell, daughter, Victoria Honeywell and sons Jerome and Timothy, seven grandchildren and a brother Walter. Funeral Services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA at 1:30PM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10-11AM. Please omit flowers.
