Roger W. Durbin, 74 of Lancaster, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at York Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of the late Rolla and Florine Ray Durbin. He was married 51 years to Jeanette Schrader Durbin.

Roger was an engineer at AMP for 20 years and previously worked for Hamilton Watch and Schick. He served in the US Army and was a graduate of New Haven High School in 1952 and Purdue University in 1956. He was a member of   St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lancaster. Roger was very involved with the soap box derby. 

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters; Natalie wife of Keith Trott, Shewsbury MA, Valerie Durbin of Marietta, Stephanie wife of Robert Rife, Lancaster, three sons; Gregory Durbin Northboro, MA, Jeffrey husband of Jennifer Durbin, East Petersburg, Anthony husband of Robin Durbin, Lancaster, ten grandchildren; Christopher, Kyle, Michala, Jenna, Marisa, Andrea, Matthew, Amanda, Emma, Justin and one sister, Annette wife of Robert Konupek of Macomb, MI. Roger was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tara Lynn Young. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Anne’s Catholic Church, North Duke and Liberty Streets, Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11:00AM. Interment will be held in Conestoga Memorial Park. A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz on Tuesday night from 7-9:00PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00- 11:00AM. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Roger’s memory to the charity of your choice.
