G. Richard Mowery

G. Richard Mowery, 88, of 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, died Tuesday at Brethren Village.

He was the husband of Dorothy S. Smythe Mowery, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage this past October 6th. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George B. and Myrtle I. Fraleich Mowery.

Richard had been a salesman for the Cooper-Booth Wholesale Co. of Lancaster for 38 years, retiring in 1983.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, Richard served as a shipfitter second class on the East Coast.

He enjoyed square dancing, and enjoyed traveling with his wife to many destinations around the US and the world.

Richard was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy R.  married to Jan Mowery of Youngsville, LA, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teri Ann Diehm, married to Robert M. Diehm of Landisville.

Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Friday at 10AM. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Endowment Fund at Brethren Village c/o Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606  Attn. Development Office.
