Albert B. Heiland

Albert B. Heiland, 87, of   9  Cornell Ave., Lancaster, Pa. died Friday at Essa Flory Hospice Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Benjamin E. and Mary J. Dorley Heiland. Albert was married to Kathryn M. Gerz Heiland for 66 years on October 12, 2006.

Albert worked at Armstrong World  Industry  Research Center for 12 years as a night guard and retired in 1984. Previously he worked at Westenberger, Maley and Myers as a carpet and drapery installer for 28 years.

His memberships include; Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where he was the former treasurer, Holy Name Society, and Strasburg Senior Citizens.

His hobby was woodworking. 

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters: Jean M. wife of   Dennis Canter of Lancaster, Patricia A. Heiland of Mountville, Deborah A. wife of Adam   Felsinger of Lancaster, four grandchildren: Julie Gilbert, Jessica Lefever, Benjamin Felsinger, Melissa Felsinger, three great grandchildren: Gabrielle Felsinger,  Kassidy Felsinger,  Braydon Felsinger, one brother: Leo husband of Margie Heiland, one sister;   Doris  wife of C. Thomas Grab. Albert was preceded in death by three brothers; Paul, Edward, Anthony Heiland and two sisters, Anna Kline, and Marie Grubb.

 A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,  558  W. Walnut Street, Lancaster, Pa on Tuesday at 11:00AM. There will be a viewing at the church from 10:00-11:00AM on Tuesday. Interment   will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Albert’s memory to The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, One Intrepid Square, West 46th Street and 12th Ave., New York, NY 10036
