Vera M. Trees, 93, of 3952 Columbia Ave, Columbia, PA, died April 12, 2006 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. Born in Fleetwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Linda Fox Weidman. Vera was the wife of the late Richard J. Trees Sr. who died in 1952. Mrs. Trees was the secretary for Immediate Unit 13 for 15 years, retiring in 1988. After retirement, she was the secretary for Moravian Manor in  Lititz. A former member of Grace Evangelical Church in Lancaster and currently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lancaster, she was past president and member of the Women American Business Association. She served as President from 1985 –1986 and was woman of the year in 1990. Mrs. Trees volunteered at Lancaster General Hospital Gift Shop, and was a member of St. Anne’s Home Auxiliary. 

Surviving is a daughter; Yvonne M., wife of the late C. Robert Nafe of Lancaster; a son, Richard J. Jr., husband of Mary Catherine Landis Trees of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Lynn, wife of Hans Deatrick of Lancaster; Robert R., husband of Linda Mull Nafe of Ephrata; Michael T., husband of Kimberly Campbell Nafe of Lancaster; and Anthony Mixell of New Jersey; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dianne Trees and Bonnie Mixell; a son, John Trees; two sisters, Eva Weidman and Norma Maurer; and two brothers, John and Earl Weidman.

A celebration of Vera’s life and Funeral Mass will be held at St Anne’s Retirement Community Chapel 3952 Columbia Ave, Columbia, PA, on Monday at 11:00am. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. Friends may pay their respect to the family at St Anne’s Retirement Community Chapel on Monday from 10:00-11:00 am.
