Mr. Chille the oldest of
three sons of Italian immigrants was born in South
Philadelphia on June 12, 1923.
Mr. Chille was a decorated US Army veteran.
He served in the Normandy invasion in France during
WWII. He landed
on Normandy Beach on D-Day+6 on his 21st birthday.
He was wounded in action on August 6, 1944 near St.
Milo France. For
his military service he was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple
Heart, as well as other medals.
Mr. Chille was married to the late
Jennie F. Chille.
He was very dedicated to his family.
During his life he was an
accomplished engineer, a tool fabricator as well as an
extraordinary inventor.
He held two US patents for his designs- one was
primarily conceived for the transportation industry but now
benefits markets and industries worldwide.
Mr. Chille is survived by two
sons, Frank A. Jr. of Maple Shade, NJ; Anthony J. Chille Sr.
husband of Sally M. of Mountville; two grandsons, John and
Anthony, Jr. husband of Erin Chille; and two great
grandchildren, Elizabeth M. and Anthony J. Chille III.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Thursday at 11a.m. The committal service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at 2p.m. Friends may attend the viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 10-10:50a.m. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Chille's memory to St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601. |
