Dear Mary,
Chip and I want to extend our sympathy to you and your family
for the loss of Ben. The video is so touching, and he was a
legacy in Lancaster. I will always remember skiing at Meadow
Valley and Rocky Springs. Ben knew my dad, George Vlassis, my
dad owned the old Wonder Bar when it was a nice place to eat a
burger and have steamed clams, I remember seeing and meeting Ben
there. May his memory be eternal. We know that Chad is honored
to help you and your family with your requests. Thank you for
using our service. We are honored.
Thank you,
Chip and Doreen Snyder
To the family: My family rented the house at
1003 E. King Street in Lancaster for many years. As a kid I
remember Ben and what I remember is how different he was from
anyone else I knew back then. He certainly did things his way
and enjoyed life. I am so sorry to here of his passing, but it
sounds like he lived a full and happy life. I love the u tube
video! That was put together with a lot of love!
Deepest regards,
Joanne Frey (Bentley) Ft. Pierce, Fl.

My deepest condolences for the loss of Ben. When I think of him
my heart fills with good vibrations and an endless smile arises.
I loved his laugh,I loved hearing him talk about his whole
family with such joy and love in his voice, I loved his sense of
humor, his sillyness but most of all I loved his beautiful
Spirit. This he will share will all of us forever, the Spirit
will never leave us.
i thank God for the gift of Ben and I thank him even more for
giving me the opportunity of meeting such a wonderful, loving

On behalf of the members and Board of
Directors of Pleasant Oak Ridge Association(PORA)in Meredith,
NH, we express our sorrow in the loss of our neighbor, Ben and
extend sympathies to his wife Mary and their entire family. It
was hard to miss Ben puttering around town or at the Post
Office. His kind manner and uniqueness will be missed.
Richard R. Gerken, President PORA
Ben has to be the most kind and intelligent
man I have ever met in my life. If I could achieve even a
fraction of what he accomplished in his seventy eight years, I
could consider my life to be completely successful. The world
needs more people like Ben - unfortunately a man so incredibly
kind, caring and grateful of everything around him is incredibly
rare in this day and age.
Ben did so much good for everyone around him. He will be missed
by all - but we will all remember the times that Ben brightened
our day. He always had a way of doing just that.

My sympathies go out to the family. I had the
pleasure of working at Rocky Springs Park as an EMT when it
first opened. Ben was very kind to all the workers at the
park. His passion and visions for the park made all of us
excited. It was a fun time. He was a unique person and I am
glad to have known him. Thom Colson's tribute brought tears to
my eyes, as it will for others. Life's a long song, but the
tune ends too soon for us all. (IA)

To the Brookmyer family:
It was with great sorrow that I learned of Ben's recent passing.
We were first cousins, and although our paths did not cross
often in later years, in our youth we did share many happy times
together, especially at family dinners and at his parent's
cottage on the Pequea creek. I will be in Wisconsin on November
14 visiting my son and family, so will not be able to attend the
memorial service. I extend my sincere sympathy to all your
family, knowing the sadness that comes with the loss of a loved
one, as I did last year with the passing of my wife.
Sincerely,
H.S.(Sid) Long

Dear Mary and family,
I am sorry to hear of Ben's passing. Many times I have wondered
how you were doing. I had lost contact but thought with great
fondness of our "adventure" together as we tore down the
"Wildcat" and then built your deck. It was a lot of hard work
but what a hoot we had working with you. I still have a copy of
the video that you gave me with Ben thoroughly enjoying
himself. What a special man!
You all have our condolences.

While it sorrows me to write at this time, for
this reason, I'll forever feel grateful that knowing Ben has
added something to my life. We rented a building that housed our
business for ten years. Ben will always be remembered by us as
the wise and kind-hearted man that he truly was.
Mary,
Though it has been many years since Glenn and I have been in
touch with you and Ben, we wish to extend our deepest sympathies
to you and all the family.
Sincerely,
